Day 11 Curlwa Rest Day
Today is the end of the first leg and we all went to a celebratory breakfast at Lock 10 Weir Restaurant. Simon and Karen joined us and Robbo and his wife ate outside. Simon and Robbo will be joining us on the next two legs.
Today we are losing Georg who has decided to finish here as it is too cold and wet for him and he is not enjoying himself. Georg is going back to Germany in a couple of days, flying out of Sydney. We tried to tell him it would warm up from now on but he had made up his mind. Georg has done many rides with us including our first trip around Oz so Collis made a presentation of a photographic book of Australia by my nephew Cameron Blake and a cycling cap. Georg gave Collis his German cycling top as a gift as well. He and Collis both got quite emotional as Georg probably won't be back to Australia to cycle again.
Breakfast was very enjoyable but quite confusing for the staff with such a big group.
Everyone rode down to where the Murray meets the Darling and then did a grocery shop. Collis also announced at the breakfast that unfortunately we are unable to follow the darling at this end as all roads have been closed so the plan is now to head to Broken Hill then onto Wilcania and then reassess there.
