Day 12 Curlwa to Bush Camp
Today was always going to be a tough day, what with the disappointment of change of route but also the prospect of cycling 137 kms to a bush camp.
On top of all this they had a headwind all the way- no let up. Carolyn was also facing the prospect of riding her new bike for the first time and Simon, Joe and Robbo were on their first day out.
We had a morning tea stop at 40 kms then lunch at 75kms (Carolyn got in the car)and then another drink stop at 105 kms. All except Robbo in to camp by 4pm. I had pre-prepared a beef and barley dish which had been dehydrated and vacuum sealed at home. I added cabbage and peas to it at camp and we had plenty of it. Served with rice and followed with peach cobbler and cream for dessert. Jerry recited one of his poems and everyone hit the sack- they were all pretty well shattered.
