Day 19 & 20 Bush Camp to Cobar and rest day
Everybody up early this morning and all planning to ride. Jerry still looks terrible so I have talked him into riding in the car again. Only 60 kms this morning but they had some hills and the usual unfavourable winds.
Into Cobar by midday and everyone camping as stated no cabins available. I told Collis to take Jerry to the hospital but they weren't all that interested and told him to take panadol 4 hrly.
Ahn-Thu managed to squeeze a cabin out of nowhere for herself and one for Jerry. The rest of us camped.
More have come down positive so it is spreading fast. Lirraine and I went shopping and we put on a BBQ as the celebratory dinner as half the group couldn't go out.
Collis made a presentation of a cycling cap to all the riders. We also informed them that this will be our last ride. It is all getting too hard- not physically so much but mentally. Caravan Park managers and Roadhouse owners are a different breed of person at alot of the stops and SOME riders can be quite demanding- hopefully that book will eventuate. We have enjoyed our 20 years of supporting cyclists across Australia and we have made some wonderful friends all over the workd. Now it is time to visit them on their home grounds and enjoy their company without all the demands made on our time.
Thank you all current and past riders for a fantastic journey and we are so glad we were able to discover Australia in such a unique way and share it with you all.
Good Luck and stay safe out there.
