Day 6 It’s raining nearly all the way to Murray Bridge

We hopped into bed quite early last night and went to sleep to the sound of rain on the roof and the tents. The rain got heavier throughout the night and the road in front of the amenities was it's own river and ankle deep at 5.30 this morning. Therefore a very wet start to the day. I told Collis not to predict total ride rainfall as he would jinx us- sure enough we have outdone his prediction already. The riders were going to ride with a handicap today but this got put off due to the rain. Very wet packup this morning. The sun came out for morning tea but this was cut short as very little shelter and the clouds were heading our way again. Theo, Peter S and John F all arrived late and in the rain. Lunch was in Murray Bridge and again the rain stopped and we got to eat in the sunshine. The riders were starting to steam in the sun- their clothes are pretty wet. No rain after Murray Bridge.
Then it was on to Mannum via a ferry. Only 8 riders camping tonight and tomorrow as we have our first rest day. It has got very cold very quickly.
