Day 8 Waikerie to Renmark
Up at the crack of dawn but what can you expect when we are all in bed by 7 or 7.30pm. Once again there doesn't seem to be any night owls on this tour.
The first group left around 7.20 am and Collis gave the second group a briefing at 7.30 but they were all racing down the road by 7.40am. Needless to say they had mostly overtaken the first group within 15-20 minutes.
Morning tea was made for 10 am but the majority had arrived at the Overland Corner Hotel well before 9.30. I arrived about 20 to 10 but i only had the tea and coffee. The morning tea food was with Collis who was aiming for a 10 am arrival. Chris was obviously very hungry as she was quite vocal about the late arrival of food. Collis arrived at 5 to 10.
Lunch was at Monash at the Adventure Playground. I couldn't get any of the riders to try out the long slide. I went into the maze but forgot to let anyone know and then I got lost and started to panic a little thinking I may be lost forever and no-one would even realise until they got hungry at tomorrows morning tea.
We arrived in Renmark at a good time for all those who hadn't voted could vote here. The weather has been great riding weather but a headwind mostly for the first 60 kms. Tonights campground is again on dirt but plenty of space although the riders always seem to bunch up.
